Refund & Cancellation Policy
A donation is a gift, so it cannot normally be taken back. This page sets out the exceptions and how to ask.

The general rule
A donation made through this site is a voluntary contribution to the trust’s charitable work. Once the payment is confirmed and the receipt issued, the money is applied to that work, and the donation is final and non-refundable. There is no cancellation once a payment has gone through.
You can, of course, stop at any point before paying. Closing the payment page or pressing your browser’s back button leaves the donation unpaid, and nothing is charged.
When we will refund
We will return money in these cases:
- You were charged more than once for the same donation. The duplicate is returned in full; the first donation stands.
- Your account was debited but the donation failed or never completed. In most cases the bank reverses such a debit on its own within a few working days. If it has not, tell us and we will trace it and return the amount.
- You were charged a different amount from the one you chose. The difference is returned.
- The payment was not authorised by you — someone else used your card or account. Report it to your bank first, and to us, and we will return the amount once it is established.
- A clear, demonstrable mistake — for example an amount typed with an extra zero — provided you tell us within 7 days of the donation. This one is at the trust’s discretion, and is not available once the funds have been applied.
What we cannot refund
- A donation you have simply changed your mind about.
- A donation given to the wrong purpose by mistake — Ashram Sewa instead of Gaushala Sewa. Write to us and we will move it to the purpose you meant, but the money is not returned.
- Bank, card, UPI or currency-conversion charges levied by your own bank or payment provider. Those are not received by the trust and are not ours to give back.
How to ask
Write to us using the addresses on our contact page, and include:
- the name and mobile number the donation was made in;
- the date and the amount;
- the receipt number, if a receipt was issued;
- your bank’s transaction reference, and a statement entry or screenshot showing the debit;
- a line saying what went wrong.
How long it takes
- We acknowledge a refund request within 3 working days.
- We decide it within 7 working days of having what we need from you, and tell you either way.
- An approved refund is sent back through the payment gateway within 7 working days of that decision, and reaches your account by your bank’s own timeline — usually 5 to 10 working days after that.
A refund goes back to the same card, account or UPI ID the payment came from. We cannot send it anywhere else. Where a receipt was already issued, it is cancelled and the cancellation recorded in the trust’s books.
Chargebacks
If something is wrong, please write to us before raising a chargeback with your bank — it is faster, and a chargeback on a charitable donation takes weeks and costs the trust a fee on top of the amount. We would rather simply fix it.
